What a Volunteer Does

A Local Living Banker's (LLB) purpose is to educate the public and sign up donors.
To do this an LLB can do any or all of the following:

        · Talk one-on-one with family members and friends
        · Answer questions about donor registration
        · Answer questions regarding the donation process
        · Make presentations to clubs and groups
        · Setup and man exhibits at health fairs or blood drives
        · Seek supportive publicity in the local media
        · Arrange for displays in businesses
        · Cooperate with other area LLBs

With the establishment of this national network of Local Living Bankers, hundreds of thousands of new potential donors could be recruited, motivated, registered and educated each year. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO BE A LOCAL LIVING BANKER, PLEASE FILL IN THE FOLLOWING FORM AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION WILL SOON BE IN THE MAIL TO YOU!

MEET OUR LOCAL LIVING BANKERS

The following are just a few of our Local Living Bankers who have made a difference in their communities by promoting organ and tissue donation and The Living Bank.

laura, ben
Laura and Ben Shrader are our dynamic duo in Missouri City, Texas. As Local Living Bankers, the Shraders are actively involved in getting the word about organ donation out to the schools and clubs in their area. They were very active in our events for Green Ribbon Awareness Week. Ben is definitely the "Green Ribbon King". He has constructed over 4,000 green ribbons and says he won't stop until everybody recognizes the green ribbon as the national organ and tissue donor symbol.

Local Living Banker, Manny Arredondo of Pearland, Texas received his heart transplant over thirteen years ago and hasn't stopped since. Wherever there's a health fair or any activity to promote organ donation, Manny is there. As Manny puts it, "This gift has meant the world to me." One of the reasons is his beautiful 7-year old daughter, Marissa who was born six years after Manny's transplant.
Manny & Marissa   audrey_dickey
Audrey Dickey is a Local Living Banker in Baytown, Texas. Audrey donated a kidney to her grandson Sean (shown in picture) when he was twenty months old. Audrey is a Local Living Banker who really spreads the word on the importance of organ/tissue donation and transplantation.
