Gavin has a new heart
 |
Gavin Morgan has a new heart. An organ donor made it possible. His mother and father, Heather and Wade Morgan, have a "personality kid." On February 6, 2006, at the age of 3 months, Gavin received his heart at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH).
Now age 2, Gavin loves the camera, flashing his deep dimples and blowing kisses to all the women recently at a photo and video shoot for The Living Bank at the Houston Museum of Natural Science's Cockrell Butterfly Museum. The Living Bank is an educational organization and registry that encourages organ donation.
"Every day is a gift," said Heather Morgan. "He is a happy, healthy child, but it's hard for parents, no matter what. We know our lives will never be normal."

The Tree of Life Program
 |
The Living Bank is establishing a program to enhance the environment, honor organ donors and recognize their families. The “Tree of Life Program” will plant a tree to celebrate the selfless donation of the greatest gift - the gift of life.
We are seeking donor families to work with us to identify honorees. The Living Bank will provide the tree and facilitate the planting in a place of the family’s selection, such as a park or other community site.
Please contact: mspell@livingbank.org for information or to arrange for a “Tree of Life.”
